Surprise dates are the best dates.
This weekend made it to the top of the list for one of the best dates ever!
Connor told me last Saturday that he had a surprise date planned. I patiently waited throughout the week, and Connor could barley contain his own excitement for me to find out what it was. He kept the secret all week though! I was actually pretty impressed. Most of the time he gets too excited and just tells me. ;) but not this time!
We left Saturday evening, drove about 30 minutes, and when we were almost there Connor couldn't hold it in anymore, so he gave me the printed off tickets... All I saw was "balloon" and I was THRILLED!
Weeks ago I heard on the radio that there was going to be a hot air balloon festival here in Atlanta and I looked up the info and begged Connor to go. Since that day though, I had completely forgotten about it!
We had tried to plan trips to go to a hot air balloon festival in Utah, but we never made it to one.
*Side note; For years, I've been in love with hot air balloons! Connor actually tricked me into thinking he was going to propose on one, that's how he was able to surprise me so well with the proposal on the beach!
I don't think Connor enjoyed just looking at a bunch of balloons as much as I did, but he was a good sport. :) There were 3 different fields filled with a total of 15 (I think) hot air balloons. Once it got dark they did a glow/light show, where the pilots of each balloon would pull the burner (guessing that's what it is) and it would light up their balloon to the music (think; a children's toy that lights up to the beat of the music type-thing).

We walked around for almost 4 hours... and I loved every second of it. :)
Connor promised me that one day he'll take me on a hot air balloon ride, so this is my documentation of his promise. ;) Until then, I'll probably just continue searching photos and videos of hot air balloons and posting them on Pinterest.
