AGAIN...
Yep, you read it right, we had more car problems! Except this time we got some good exercise and even more laughs.
A couple weeks ago, we noticed the sub in Connor's car went out. We spent hours trying to fix it (well, Connor did), but we couldn't figure it out. So the next day, I decided to call the sub company to see if they could help me fix it (first mistake), they had me do all this technical stuff and for a minute I really thought I was going to fix it (second mistake), then it went down hill. The radio just randomly turned off! (not related to the sub) So the guy had me get in the front and try and mess with some fuses, and check some other stuff. I got a little nervous, and I told him was going to wait to do the rest with my husband, told him thanks for the help, hung up the phone, went to start the car and... it was dead!
I was SO upset. It doesn't help that I don't know ONE person here. So I just started walking around the apartment complex trying to find someone to help me.
After walking around for a while, I finally found a maintenance guy that came and tried to help. Turns out he's a mechanic and he said our battery was completely dead. We tried to jump it for 20 minutes and nothing would happen.
I called Connor crying because I felt so bad about 1- the car and 2- making him walk home. But he was super nice, actually- laughed, told me it was okay, and said he was fine to walk home! Little did he know, he'd get home and have to turn around and walk another couple miles around town haha.

We took the battery out and carried it to Wal-Mart with us, only to find out they didn't have the battery we needed! We googled auto shops close to us, and the only one that was open was 2 miles away and closing in 40 minutes... So what did we do? Stole a Wal-Mart shopping cart (the battery was way to heavy to carry), and started running to the auto shop! Lol.
We probably looked like the biggest dorks!
Connor ran ahead of me to make sure we got there by closing. So there I was, all by myself, running down a super busy street with a shopping cart, passing by people that were walking on the side walks, and getting weird looks.
After 20-30 minutes, I got to the Auto Shop and Connor had barley gotten there before me, even though he ran probably 10 minutes ahead of me. Turns out he went the wrong way! He had ran along the route that we drive to work, so he had to back-track and cut through some trees to get there! Lol.
Anyway, we got our new battery in the shopping cart,

and headed home to install it so Connor didn't have to walk to the train in the morning.
Fortunately, the mechanic that helped me earlier in the day, showed me how to take out/put in the battery!
We got it in and finished late that night.
And guess what!? The radio started working again! All day I felt so bad that it was my fault the radio broke and the car died, turns out the reason the radio turned off was because the car didn't have enough energy and the car was running on it's last juices.
So it actually turned out to be a big blessing having the car die when it did (in our parking garage), or else I probably would have gotten stuck somewhere further from home and wouldn't have found the maintenance worker to help. Annnnd, Connor would have been walking a lot further. :)
... Just another funny memory to add to our ATL adventure. :)
