Honeymoon

As (I think) all of you know, Connor surprised me with the honeymoon destination! I had no idea where we were going until we were going through security at the airport. All I knew was to pack swimming suits and clothes for warm weather. So it made the whole honeymoon experience even more exciting. :)
We flew from Salt Lake to San Diego and had a 2-hour layover that turned into a 4-hour layover, then a 6-hour layover!

As you can tell by Connor’s face, we weren't very happy. ;) It didn’t help that they were doing construction on the terminal we were stuck in, so all the food shops and stands were shut down except this very questionable Chinese place. We tried to walk to the other terminals, but they didn’t have food either! (What the heck!?) So we were stuck with the Chinese for two meals.

ANYWAY -- we finally got on our flight; got to CABO and got to our hotel for the night.

The next morning we had to check out by 11:00, but couldn’t check into the resort until 4:00, so we decided we’d take a taxi to Wal-Mart and get some groceries for the week. The taxi driver wanted to charge us like $10 to drive 1/2 mile… and Connor was just not having that! (LOL) So he decided we would walk. (Still laughing about this decision) …Off we went! Two newlyweds walking on the side of a super busy highway, cars driving only a couple feet from us, my HUGE pink suitcase that was having a really hard time rolling through all the dirt/gravel dragging behind us, 100-degree weather, IN MEXICO! (Still mad at myself for not taking a picture of this) All I could do was laugh!
As much as I thought we wouldn't, we did make it to Wal-Mart safely, and needless to say, that's the last time Connor decided we would walk anywhere. Heck, we even felt like giving the next driver a few extra bucks!

After a few bumps in the road, we finally got to the resort, got settled, and realized we were in paradiseWe had a view of the ocean from our balcony, huge room, king sized bed, full kitchen, popcorn, mac and cheese (my favorites), and… each other. ;) I was in heaven.

The resort had multiple pools, including a few infinity pools... (amazing!)

and some amazing views!

The first couple nights we were there, the waves were insane from the hurricane that hit California! (This helped with reasoning my fear of the ocean with Connor;)

We went into town a couple times; saw a movie (Just FYI- movie theaters in Mexico usually only play movies in Spanish... AND- Hercules is a terrible movie), walked along the pier, went to the beach (yes, I got in the water! And, we had one of the "sales guys" on the beach call us some names in Spanish and Connor called him out, his face was priceless as he realized Connor could understand/speak Spanish), took a boat ride out to see rock formations, and spent a lot of time doing absolutely nothing besides enjoying the fact that we had nothing to do!

The boat had a glass window on the bottom where you could see everything underneath. Water in Cabo is so clear that we could see all the little fish swimming under us!

We got to see The Arch close up, and a few other rock formations.

We also snuck onto a private beach!

On our last full day, we had dinner at the resorts restaurant that sits on the edge of the cliff. You can't really tell in the picture, but we were right above the ocean.

Connor's super sad if you can't tell ;)

I think we enjoyed our honeymoon more than most couples, considering the months prior were filled with non-stop wedding planning, planning/organizing the ride for the Razor Crusaders, riding 380-miles on scooters across the state of Utah, trying to find a place to live on the other side of the country, and making sure we had everything packed/ready to go to move!

We were so sad it had to end and we're already dying to get away again, but I guess our exteneded-honeymoon in Atlanta will have to do for now. :)
